Baier previously served as assistant principal at Cambridge High School for the 2015-16 school year and into the 2016-17 school year before becoming principal in January of 2017. Baier left as HS principal due to health issues that have been reconciled.

Baier also served as principal at East Muskingum Middle School (2007-2015), assistant principal at East Muskingum Middle School (2005-2007) and Tri Valley High School (2001-2005). He was also a teacher at the Muskingum-Perry Career Center for 12 years.

The Board also approved the hiring of Jeffrey Wheeler as Cambridge High School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director.

Wheeler recently served in a similar position at Meadowbrook High School and Middle School. Wheeler was the athletic director for Meadowbrook Middle School from April of 2013 and also served as Middle School principal (2017-2018) and Meadowbrook High School assistant principal (2018-2024).

At Rolling Hills, he also worked as Facility Usage Coordinator, Home School Coordinator, and District Test Coordinator. He previously taught math and science at Foxfire High School and was a substitute teacher.

As an athletic director, Wheeler has been involved on several state and district boards and committees.

In other business, the board approved Robert Mascolino as the Academic Student Support Specialist at the High School, Alyssa Betts as Middle School ELA teacher and Khloe Taylor as High School math teacher.

Prior to the hiring decisions, the board accepted the resignations of Jason Bunting, High School Principal; Robert Mascolino, Assistant High School Principal; Aaron Quinn, Athletic Director; and Robert Baier, Middle School Assistant Principal.

The May meeting of the Board of Education will be Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 5 p.m. at the Garfield Administrative Center.
