The Cambridge High School girls’ basketball team could not extend their winning streak to three games Saturday afternoon falling to Point Pleasant 31-20.
The Bobcats played even with the Knights in the first half ending the first quarter tied at 5-5 and trailing 13-11 after two quarters of play. Emma Krise and Khloe Seresun led the team with eight of the 11 first-half points.
The Lady Knights outscored Cambridge 8-3 in the third quarter with Brynn Eubanks nailing a three-point goal for the Bobcats’ only points. Cambridge continued to struggle offensively in the fourth quarter as well as Point Pleasant outscored the Cats 10-6 to take the 11-point victory.
Krise led Cambridge with seven points in the game while Eva Lamphear scored six in the post. Eubanks and Seresun each scored three points.
Cambridge falls to 2-3 for the season and will be back in action Monday when they host Indian Creek.
In JV action, the Knights defeated Cambridge 17-14 in two quarters. Seresun scored 11 and Bailey Kenworthy scored three.
