Cambridge High School girls’ basketball team opened Buckeye 8 League play Monday night with a 54-22 loss to Indian Creek in the Gene Ford Gymnasium at Cambridge High School.
The Redskins opened up a big lead early jumping out to a 25-6 lead in the first quarter and then extended the lead to 30 points at the half at 39-9. With a running clock in the second half, Indian Creek outscored Cambridge 15-13.
Cambridge, now 2-4 for the season, was led by Emma Krise with 11 points, Khloe Seresun with five points and Kiara Murphy with four points.
In JV action, Indian Creek took a 30-18 victory in a half of basketball. Cambridge was led by Kainani Pacanas with six points including a rare four-point play when she was fouled on a made three-point goal and sank the free throw. Bailey Kenworthy added five points and Seresun four.
Cambridge is scheduled to play again Thursday at St. Clairsville.
