Board of Education Organizes for 2022
Cambridge City School District Board of Education elected member Amy Kissinger as president and Dave Peoples as vice president for 2022 during its organizational meeting on Thursday.

Kissinger is in her second term on the board and has previously served as president. Peoples is in his second term on the board.
The board also officially established the second Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. for board of education meetings. The meetings will be conducted at the Garfield Administrative Center unless otherwise noted.

The board designated the Daily Jeffersonian as the official newspaper for publication of required notices.
The board appointed Kissinger the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) Legislative Liaison and the delegate to the 2022 OSBA Annual Business meeting, with Peoples designated as the delegate alternate.

During the meeting, Director of Student Services Carmen Feldner reviewed with the board the wide variety of student services the district provides.

Those services include intervention specialist working with students inside and outside the classroom, specially created classroom environments that are designed to increase student learning, behavioral support services, psychology services, counselling services, career exploration services as well as direct student services such as speech and language therapy, occupational and physical therapy and vision and audiology services, to name a just a few.

“We provide a so many services to support our students,” Feldner said. “The goal is to utilize data-driven instruction, and community and family partnerships to provide as much support as possible for all students.”

The board approved three resolutions giving the administration the authority to move forward with facility construction and improvement projects (See Article here).

In other business, the board approved hiring of custodians Jordan Ball at the Garfield Administrative Center and John Bannan at the High School, and an unpaid leave of absence for Ray Jefferis.

During the treasurers’ report, the board approved the Annual Appropriations of $42,802,100.95 and the Amended Certificate of Resources of $52,739,348.22 for fiscal year 2022.

The next board meeting will be Thursday, Feb. 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the Garfield Administrative Center
